It's a beautiful fall day here today, still warm enough to enjoy a popsicle or two! The leaves are starting to turn and pretty soon I will have to be out raking them up! I haven't been in my craft room for ages and decided to go down and spend some time. I made this popsicle card using the Gypsy & Smiley Cards cart. I have absolutely no little girls cards in my stash & this was very quick & easy to make. The striped paper & pink paper were from my scrap drawer. I embossed the white background with the Cuttlebug and took a chunk out of the popsicle with my round scalloped punch. The sentiment stamps are from Copper Leaf Creations. Well I'm off to run some errands.

Another crappy day here today. Hopefully tomorrow will be sunny. I was going to head down to my craft room but I am tired so I probably wouldn't be very productive.

I didn't have any anniversary cards on hand so I made a few of these up. They were pretty quick and simple to do. The owl stamp is from Stampendous called Owl Friends. I used the Cuttlebug Distressed Stripes folder after I stamped the image on the front. This folder has become one of my favorites and I have been using it quite a bit lately. I used some Tim Holtz distressed ink around the edges of the kraft paper. The inside verse was computer generated and cut out with my nesties.

I saw a card similar to this online & unfortunately I don't remember who created it to give credit but I thought it was so cute I would make a few. The apple is from a Stampin Up set called Tart n' Tangy I believe and I used my Cricut to cut the A+ for the inside. The best teacher stamp was from the $1.50 bin at Michael's.

I made this for my mom's birthday this year. The stamp is from a retired Stampin Up set I have never used before and I have no idea what the name is. I paper pieced the one dress with paper from the scrap drawer and colored the flower with my Copics. The inside verse is computer generated.

I wanted to try my Puffy paint (which I cannot find in Canada grrrrrr) that my mother bought for me at JoAnn's. I decided to use the Cricut Smiley Cards cart and make the beer card. I gotta tell you that I love this paint. It is so easy to apply and then you just use your embossing gun and it puffs right up. It was so perfect for this card. I used the Cuttlebug Distressed Stripes folder on the mug. I don't think it shows up very well in the pic but it adds a nice texture to the card. The verse inside is computer generated.

I have seen different variations of this card done with a heart punch but I didn't have one in the correct size so I used the Cricut to cut mine. I used a Cuttlebug frame folder on the front as well as the Swiss Dots folder on the bride heart and a Cuttlebug border folder on the inside.

I made this card for my daughter's 17th b'day today. She loves sparkle and glitter! This was about as sparkly and glittery as I could come up with. I don't buy that much glittery paper so I had to dig in my scrap drawer and find some scraps from paper that she bought. I figured she would a least like the paper! The picture does not do the paper justice as you can't really see any of the glitter. I also added some glitter jelly roller pen wherever I could to give it more glitter. The verse is computer generated. I cut the card at 5" and cut the matching envelope the same size. This is the first time I've made a round card so I'm happy with way it turned out.

Butterflies

It has been so long since I posted anything I see that Blogger has changed the way you upload pics. It takes forever compared to the old way.

I saw this card on Lucy's Cards website and thought it was so cute I just had to make one. Only problem was I didn't have the Spellbinders die she used so I decided to see if I could use my Gypsy and a butterfly cut out and achieve the same thing. It worked. I'm really starting to love my Gypsy!

I thought it turned out so well I would try and do a baby girl and baby boy card using the same technique and they turned out just as cute. The cards were cut at 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 and the butterfly was from the Cricut Everday Paper Dolls cut at 2 3/4 and the baby feet were from Cricut New Arrival cut at 2 1/2. The paper for the baby cards is K&Company Itsy Bitsy Boy & Girl stacks. I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink for around the edges. I hated to waste the little baby feet from the card fronts so I used them inside and used my Peachy Keen Everday Faces on them.

RECIPE SCRAPBOOK PG. 2

I was on a roll yesterday and got the second page done for my daughter's cookbook. I cut everything out with Cricut Life's A Beach cart except the fish which is from Stampin' Up's Fishy Friends stamp set. I used my Nestabilities to cut around the recipe and colored the fish with my Copics. Here are the numbers I used;

BG01, BG02, YG03, Y06 & V04

I embossed the boat & sails with my Cuttlebug embossing folders for some extra texture and used my Peachy Keen Everyday Faces stamp set for the sun.

I hadn't used my crop-a-dile for awhile so I screwed up the one eyelet and couldn't fix it without ruining my page so it had to stay that way.......sigh

RECIPE SCRAPBOOK PG. 1

My daughter has been bugging me to make her a recipe scrapbook full of family favourites. I have never scrapbooked before and for some reason whenever I sat down to start I would get overwhelmed. I am just so use to making a card. Well I have finally finished my first page! I saw a cute apron that a lot of people have been using on the blogs I follow and decided I would use it and see what happened. I used Cricut's From My Kitchen cart for the oven mitts (I love that cart) and Don Juan for the lettering. I also used my Gypsy and must say I am getting a lot better at creating with it and can see why you scrapbookers love it.

Here it is;

The recipe is from my sister's grade 8 home economics class (my kids don't have those classes unfortunately) and my family just loves it. Great for potlucks & family reunions. You can tell the recipe is old because in Canada you can't get a 16 or 18 oz. can of pork & beans anymore. I believe they are 14 oz. now or 398ml. Not as many beans for the money now!

I borrowed a few flower stamps from my mom and this is one of the cards I have done so far using one of them. I seem to always gravitate towards making birthday cards so decided to make a sympathy card since I only have one in my stash. I have a big pile of hand made paper that has just been sitting there for about 4 years untouched, so decided that I had to use a piece! It was hard to cut & punch. It left little fuzzies and I just about gave up using it but I liked the way it turned out. I used my Copic markers to color the image.

This design if from the July/Aug edition of Papercrafts magazine. The designer is Shannon Selsor. Hers is a thank you card but I thought it would make a nice wedding card and since I don't have any in my stash that is what I decided to do. The senitment on the inside is from Fiskar's Just Married Quotes clear stamp set. The punch is from EK Success called Flower & Flourish. The sentiment on the envelope and the front of the card is from Inkadinkadoo Wedding/Marriage clear stamp set and the butterfly punch is Martha Stewart. The pattern on the card front is hand stamped using a flourish stamp I got in the $1.50 bin at Michael's. Now I am going to try and get my own creative juices going and try to finish up one of my own designs. Wish me luck!

This is the first time that I used my Gypsy to do a whole card and I was so proud of myself! Thanks to Mrs. B for the great video tutorial. The only thing that I don't like about cutting the card base out on the Cricut is the little fold marks that it leaves on the card. They always show when I fold and score the card. This video is great though because she shows you how you can remove things that you don't want to cut out and I didn't know you could do this. Even if you don't want to make the card, check out her video. I learned how to use quite a few of the keys on my gypsy from this video. I made two of these cards, so the second one I just cut the card base with my cutter. Here is the link to Mrs. B's video;

Gosh I can't believe that summer is almost half over. I too like many of the blogs I follow have lost my mojo when it comes time to designing something. It takes me so long to pick out the papers and put everything together that I have just made some copies of cards from various blogs that I follow. There sure are some talented ladies out there! This is a copy from Stampin' Up with Dawn called Split Negative. I just love it. I also used one of the old trucks from an older Stampin Up set that I think is called Your a Classic but not sure. I used Stampin' Up's chocolate chip for the base, the strip down the middle and the letters. The yellow and embossed brown paper are from Bo Bunny. I used my copic (Y32, Y35, N1 & O) to color the beer mug. The stamps are from Stampin' Up Cheers To You set. I embossed the brown paper with Cuttlebugs Tiny Mosaic embossing folder. The smiley faces are from Cricut Wildcard cart and the letters are from Cricut Don Juan cart cut at 3/4" I made 4 of these, two for Father's Day cards and two for birthday cards.

I found the layout for this card on the following site http://cutecardsandcraftsbyjamie.blogspot.com/2010/04/thank-you-lifes-beach.html and thought it would make a cute father's day card or any masculine card. The chair is cut from Cricut Life's A Beach cart at 3" and the birds are from the same cart and cut at 2". The sand colored paper is from Sandy Lion. I added a bit of glitter pen to the sand which you can't see in the pic and I gave my chair a worn look with a white ink pad and my finger and just rubbed it in. I distressed the edges with my finger and rolled them at bit. I also added a bit of chalk to the sky.

I used The Man Stack from DCWV for this card and basically just had to add some hemp, a button & a sentiment and I was done. The card base is done from Kraft paper. The verse on the inside is computer generated and cut & embossed with my nestabilites.

I used Marvy circle & scalloped punch, EK Success Arch Scallop punch, the stamp on the outside is from a set from Michael's called Birthday Wishes and the inside sentiment is from Copper Leaf Creations.

Mother's Day

Yes I know that Mother's day is over lol but I didn't want to post it before I gave it to her because she looks at my blog and then after I gave it to her I totally forgot to post it! The good news is that I have my Father's day card done and as soon as I take a pic I will post it and I will be ahead of the game!! I used the Cricut Mother's Day cart for everything you see on the card. It was tricky cutting out the background piece and getting the blade depth just right without it ripping even though I slowed the machine right down. I wish Provocraft would come out with a cartridge called JUST FOR MEN or ALL THINGS MANLY or how come they don't have a 2010 Father's Day cart???? Come on Provocraft there is MORE money to be made here!!!

COPIC ACRYLIC MARKER STANDS

I am so happy with my Acrylic Marker Stands that I just had to share it with everyone!! It sure beats having them in a basket tied up with rubber bands to separate the different color groups.

I purchased them through Carpe Diem and had them shipped to my mother who winters in Florida as they don't ship to Canada. The ones I purchased hold 112 markers and the cost was 39.99. I purchased 2 and the shipping was free..... yeah!! I love the way the markers go in at an angle so you can see all your colors. Now hopefully I will get into the Copic certification class in my area so that I can learn to use them properly. Beth left a post on my blog to say that someone sells them on Ebay....she goes by the seller name September_Playground and she ships to Canada. Unfortunately they are a lot more money but if you don't know anyone that lives in the States to have them shipped to and then forward them on what's a Canadian girl suppose to do??

I made this card for my sister's b'day which is on Friday. The paper is called Wild Raspberry from K&Company. It is an 8x8 pad I bought at Walmart. The punch is from Martha Stewart and the stamp is from Stamps Happen Inc. #60058 Bees. The sister sentiment is from Fiskar's family clear stamp set. I used my copics to color the image but I am still having problems with the bleeding and the shading on the brown is not the greatest because the colors were too far apart but it was all I had. The paper that the image is stamped on is from Neenah but I prefer Simply Smooth and I don't have anymore until my mother comes to visit. I had some shipped to her while she winters in Florida as well as some more Copics from Dick Blick's and a whole whack of other goodies! When are you coming to see me mom?? It's gonna be like Christmas when she gets here.

The sentiment for the inside is from Copper Leaf Creations and I used my scalloped oval Nestabilites to cut and emboss it.

I am still having a heck of a time taking a decent picture with my camera. You would think with a $500.00 camera your pictures should come out pretty darn good but I have not liked this camera since I bought it. It is a Canon Powershot S3 IS and my cheaper Olympus (that fell in the lake) took way nicer pictures than this thing. I try to take them in natural lighting but they never seem to come out crisp looking. I have tried all different settings with no luck. I have also tried using the macro function but the camera will not allow me to do it on automatic for some reason. Well I am off to make breakfast and then I will post another quick card I made using the Crafts Too Leafy Tree embossing folder.

This is my Grandma's Mother's Day card. The paper is from KI Memories called Daydream. The wheelbarrow stamp is from Copper Leaf Creations which I colored in with my Copics. My mom winters in Florida and she did not take any of her cardmaking stuff this year and was feeling blue about that, so I made 3 different sets of 4 cards each to send to her to put together. This is from one of the sets. I thought she could give them to the hostess if they were invited somewhere for dinner as a little thank you gift. The circle paper is from DCWV, the gray card base is from one of those 12x12 plain stacks from Michael's and the red is from my scraps. The phone was cut from the Cricut From My Kitchen cart and I think I cut it at 31/4 or 3 1/2. I also included plain white inserts that you can write on. My mom thought the inserts were too plain so she bought a punch and punched down both sides and that really jazzed them up!

MORE EASTER CARDS

Well my order from Custom Crops FINALLY arrived yesterday aprox. 1 month from when I placed the order. Unfortunately it is too late to make any cards with the Easter cart as all my cards have to be mailed and it's too late now. I bought the Mother's Day cart as well so I guess I can get going on that one. I made this card for my grandma using Peachy Keen PK-261 Crunchin' Carrot Bunny stamp. The patterned paper is from K&Company Brenda Walton Small Wonders 12x12 stack and the plain paper is from Colormates. I used my Copics to color the bunny and the Fiskars paper crimper. Boy is it hard to get that paper to go through that crimper straight. I could not get a 2" piece to go through so I had to do a 6" piece and then cut it. The flowers and buttons are from a little set I bought at Walmart.

This is a blantant copy of a card that I saved from the internet a couple of years ago before I started my blog so unfortunately I have no name to give credit too. I just thought is was so cute so I made one for my sister and one for my parents for Easter. I used the Cricut Doodlecharms cart for the eggs and the Happy Easter sentiment is computer generated. CUSTOM CROPS....Where is my package??

Well I ran to the mailbox today hoping my order had arrived from CUSTOM CROPS. Sad to say that it has now been exactly 3 weeks and still no package. Has anybody else ordered from them and how did you find their shipping time? It wouldn't be so bad except that I was waiting for the Cricut Easter 2010 cartridge to come. I wanted to make some Easter cards but it looks like it will be too late to make them and get them in the mail by the time it arrives................

I was in the mood to play around with my Copic markers yesterday and one of the new bunny stamps (PK-258) I bought from Peachy Keen Stamps. I was starting to regret buying the markers the last time I tried to color with them but this time it was better......thank god because they're not cheap!! This is the first time I have used a Peachy Keen Stamp and I must say that I love the way the image stamps out! I find if I stick to the lighter colors I do ok. As soon as I use darker colors it`s not good. I have also been testing different cardstocks and my favorite so far is Simply Smooth. This image is actually colored on Neenah cardstock which is my second favorite.

Well I am going to try and get another card done up since I have another Peachy Keen Image I colored yesterday. Unfortunately I only have one Happy Easter Stamp! Do you believe that I went to Michael`s and they did not even have any Easter Stamps at all!! We are so lacking here in Barrie, Ontario, what`s a girl to do. I get tired of ordering everything online (and almost everything I order is from the States) and you have to wait for it to clear customs....................sigh

Well I got my brother-in-laws card done. The cow is from the FROM MY KITCHEN cart and the grass is from PLANTIN SCHOOLBOOK cart. I embossed the grass with my Cuttlebug distressed stripes folder and I used the Cuttlebug Traffic Jam folder. The sentiment is from Copper Leaf Creations. The layout for this card is similar to one in my new Paper Crafts magazine by AJ Otto. Well I think I will finish my dishes and go down to my craft room and try to tidy it up and maybe start on an Easter card!

I made about 6 of this design to send out. My sewing leaves a lot to be desired but I guess you can tell it's homemade!! The stamp is from High Hopes called Bearly Swooshin. I colored the bear in with my Prismacolor pencils and blended with mineral spirits. I added some glitter with my gelly roll silver star pen on his scarf, mitts, hat & skiis.

Got up to frost this morning..............brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. I have been so busy making Christmas cards that I haven't had time to take any pictures or post any. I used my High Hopes Country Snowman stamp, my Cuttlebug Sledding embossing folder and my Nestabilities. The plaid paper is from a pad I bought at Wal-mart a few years back. I colored the snowman with my prismacolor pencils and gamsol. It took me quite awhile to color the snowman so I don't think I will be doing any duplicates of this card. It will be a one and only!

The snowflakes were cut out using the Cuttlebug and snowflake die. The snowman stamp is from Inkadinkadoo Tis the Season clear set. He's kind of an ugly snowman but easy to color if you were using him to make a few cards. It would have been nice if he had a top hat. I used my nesties large deckled rectangle set to cut out the rectangle I stamped the snowman on and the paper is from pads I got at Wal-Mart about 3 years ago. I added the snow at the bottom from a bag of stuff that I had laying around to sprinkle around my ceramic Christmas village. I didn't know if it would work or not but I just used my glue pen and sprinkled some on and pressed it down and it works great.

I used the Cricut Stretch Your Imagination cart for the tree which I cut at 5" and my Nestabilities for the Sun and the ribbon slider. The paper is from Recollections Autumn cardstock pad from Michael's and the ribbon I bought at Michael's as well. The card base is a 6"x6". The stamp is from a set called tiny words. I used my nail to roughen around the edges of the leaf cardstock.

Yet another Halloween card!!! I don't even send Halloween cards but this cardstock pack from Michael's is so darn cute and so easy to make a card with that I can't resist!! For this card I did nothing but add the spider which I cut out with the Cricut Doodlecharm cart at 2" and added some googly eyes to it and attached a sentiment and VOILA..........done.

I used the Recollections Autumn cardstock pad from Michaels to make this card. The papers are adorable. I can't seem to get the settings just right on my camera because the colors on the actual card are way richer than the colors in the picture. The card is a 6x6 and I cut the tree out at 5" using the Cricut Stretch Your Imagination cart and embossed it with the Cuttlebug distressed stripes folder. The sign I cut out and embossed with my square Nestabilities and added some brown eyelets. I added a little glitter to the leaves which you can't see very well in the picture.

Both these were made with the Recollections Halloween cardstock pad from Michael's. The bat and sentiment on the top one were cut out with the Cricut Wildcard cart and I used a punch for the stars. The bottom one was really easy. I just added ribbon, a button & sentiment to the cardstock. The ribbon is from Michaels as well.

I made this card using a layout from my new Paper Crafts magazine. The layout was for a bag but I made mine into a card. The paper is from an 8"x 8" pad from Michael's called Halloween Recollections and I used the Cricut Stretch Your Imagination cart for the black swirl embellishment and the Cricut Wild cart for the BOO

This is the card I made for my son's 19th birthday yesterday! They grow up so fast. I used Stampin' Up Cheers To You set, my Nestabilities and Cricut Plantin Schoolbook cartridge. The paper is from Scraps of Joy in Barrie.

I made these a few days ago using a fruit stamp set I bought from Stampin' Up called Tart n' Tangy and my Marvy Markers. I used my Nestabilities to cut and emboss the circles and the blue strawberry paper is from Scraps of Joy in Barrie.

I have been so busy lately I haven't had much time for cardmaking but I moved the craft room to the basement (will post some pictures soon) and it is so much more functional now that I had to sit and make a card using this Changito Monkey stamp and sentiment from Stampendous. The floral paper is from a K and Company pad called Lemon Drop that I think I bought from Wal-Mart. The bottom sentiment is from a Stampin' Up set. Well off to start the laundry and pull weeds........have a great day!

Well we had sunshine here for about 2 hours this afternoon..........yea!! I bought this stamp the other day from Michael's. It is a Stampendous stamp called Tiers of Treats. The plaid paper is from a pad by DCWV called The Sweet Stack and the card base paper is from Best Occasions Pearlescent Paper Pack.

Well the sun is back here, which means I have to get my butt outside and tend to the jungle! I made this with cardstock and paper we had laying around. The stamp is Parisbella from Stamping Bella. I hope the sun is shining wherever you are. Enjoy your day!!

Rain rain go away!!!! Is it ever going to stop? Guess I shouldn't complain since I've had time to do things other than gardening! I made this gatefold card using my Scor-Pal. The dog house was cut out using the Cricut Doodlecharm cart cut at 4". I used Cuttlebug's distressed stripe folder on the bottom of the house and mosaic tile on the roof. The stamps are from Inkadinkadoo called Dogs.

I was up at 5:30 this morning having my coffee and decided I should make something with this new stamp I bought from Penny Black called "Toadily Yours". It is so adorable. The flowered paper is from KI Memories Daydream pad and the sentiment is from Stampendous. I colored the stamp in with my Prismacolor pencils. I know everyone seems to be using Copic markers now but I can't justify buying them when I spent so much on these Prismacolors. I don't even think you can buy Copics where I live. Well off to do more gardening..........will it ever end!!!

Wow, I have been so busy lately working, gardening, cooking, cleaning.................you know the drill I'm sure, that I have been too busy to even think about card making. My daughter though seems to have a lot of time on her hands because she has made about 8 cards this past week so I will post a few of her creations. The paper is from K and Company and the stamp is from Stampendous (H253 Bright Day) that we bought at Michael's. Well I am off to cook and do some more gardening!!!

The idea for this card came from CardMaker magazine. I used one of the butterflies off the Cricut Walk in My Garden cartridge and cut it out of white vellum. The paper is from a pack of K and Company called Wild Saffron that I bought at Wal-Mart. The stamp is from Inkadinkadoo called Garden Words. I inked around the butterfly with white pigment ink and I ripped the top and side of the card at the front only to allow the inside pattern to show.

I whipped this one up fast and amazed myself (I am usually a one-card-takes-me-all-day kind of a gal). My son needed a card to give to his dad for father's day and of course I left it till 9 o'clock last night! I always find it hard to make cards for men. The Beer-a-Fella stamp & sentiments are from http://www.stampingbella.com/ I used 2 different Cuttlebug folders.....distressed stripes & tiny bubbles. I used my Nestabilities to cut out and emboss the rectangle for the front and my punches for the inside.

This is for my mom's birthday which is tomorrow. She received it in the mail already so I'm ok to post now! I used Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder, Martha Stewart scalloped lace punch and Inkadinkadoo Butterflies & Bugs stamp set from Michael's. I used Cricut Beyond Birthdays to cut out the word Mom. I used a clear star gelly roll pen on the butterflies and to make the little dots in the corners. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!!

Wow..........finally got this done. Only took me about 4 hours. I sure wouldn't make money if I was selling cards!! This is the first time I ever used my machine to do zigzag stitching on a card or anything for that matter. It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. Now I have to whip up another Father's Day card.........hope I get it done before it gets here : )

I made this card for my sister's birthday. I used Marvy markers and chalk. The frog stamp is from Inkadinkadoo. The inside verse which is from Stampin' Up says "We may not be tadpoles anymore but at least we haven't croaked.

This is my first accordian gate fold card and the first time I used my nestabilities. The paper is from Martha Steward Botanical paper pad and the stamps are from the Changito Dos set. I colored the monkeys using my prismacolor pencils and blended them with mineral spirits.

Don't you just love Earl!! I like comical stamps. The stamps are from http://www.copperleafcreations.com/ and the gone fishing embellishment is from http://www.stampingbella.com/. I embossed the blue strip with Cuttlebug's Tiny Bubbles embossing folder. I used Marvy makers to color the stamp.

This is a flower pot note card. Scrappin' dad had one on his site and you will also find the link there http://scrappindad.blogspot.com/ that will give you the actual measurements for the card. I cut the flowers from the Cricut Plantin Schoolbook cart, the smaller leaves are from the Cricut Walk In My Garden cart and the longer leaves are from the Cricut Stretch Your Imagination cart.

Another card & matching envelope made with the Wildcard cart. The card is designed to open left to right but I made it so it opens right to left. I made a mistake and put the words on reversed but decided to leave it that way. I added a dragon fly stamp.

Decided to get in the scrap drawer this morning and make a card. I usually don't go for the real glittery stuff (that's my daughter's forte) but decided what the heck. MANHATTEN ROSE

This is a card I made for my Grandma for her Birthday using Stampin' Up's Manhatten Rose embossing folder. I embossed the card and then cut around the rose design and then I embossed it on to vellum paper, cut around it and adhered it with vellum tape. I used my Scor-Pal to score around the outside of the card. Hope Grandma likes it!!

I was up at 5 this morning because I was so excited that I finally received my Nestabilities in the mail yesterday that I had been waiting for. I found the layout for this card online (sorry I don't remember who did it to give you credit for it). The stamp is from a clear cupcake set I purchased from Micheal's and the ribbon is from Dollarama. I cut the flower out twice using one of the punches from a set I bought at Costco and I put a dot on it using my clear star jelly roll pen.

I made this card with another stamp from Copper Leaf Creations. The fore stamp and golf ball are from Stampin' Up. I colored it in with my Marvy markers and embossed the background with Cuttlebug's Tiny Bubbles embossing folder. The letters were cut using the Cricut Printing 101 cartridge.
